H.R.P.R.G. Dancing Ghosts
This story was told to me by my sister.First let me say that she lives in a sub-division of very old houses, most built in the 1800's. there is a section in the middle which they call the square but it is actually a round road.In the middle of the square at one end is a rec center and a couple of other buildings. There is a parking lot in the middle of this and an old gazebo at the other end.Old buildings and shops line either side of the street in the square. Now for the story.
Her husband had come home from work not feeling well and had tried to got to bed to rest.He could not sleep well so later in the night,at around 1:30, they decided to go to the 24hr.grocery for some cold medicine. As they were driving through the square she noticed a pair of figures which seemed very odd to her.She told her husband she had just seen something very strange and they decided to drive back around. She really didn't expect what ever it was to still be there but as they came around the corner she saw it was.It was on the side walk near the gazebo and there was a streetlight shining on the figures. They stopped about 3 feet away with the headlights shinig towards it.It appeared to be 2 figures,Both were entirely misty but you could make out the form of heads, bodies, legs and partial arms. The figures seemed to be swirling around each other actually like dancing. The mists were about 18 inches off the ground and then seemed to be about average adult height. They sat there for about 5 minutes trying to figure out if it could be anything natural. It was a clear night and they couldn't see any fog out. They finally realized it could be nothing else but ghosts. They had never experienced a natural fog or smoke which did not touch the ground and formed 2 seperate patches and especially had never seen fog dance. The couple did not disappear and they seemed not to notice the car at all.My sister and her husband decided to go on and let who ever they were alone. On the way back home they were no longer visible.I find this to be about the most romantic ghost tale I have ever heard.I would like to think that since this took place in the middle of Decmber,it may have been a couple of many days gone by who were reliving a Christmas dance in the square.
